Discover 6 Handpicked Treasures from Lovely Small Businesses in Bristol

Bristol is a vibrant city in southwest England, famous for its street art, lively music scene, lush green spaces, and iconic hot air balloons. It's also a creative hub, brimming with charming small businesses offering unique and lovely finds.

One such business is my own, Skudaboo—an online art gallery specialising in premium giclée art prints. Our mission is to help you fill your home with personality while supporting incredible artists.

If you're looking to treat yourself to something special from a Bristol small business, I’ve curated some of my favourites in this blog.

When you support small businesses, you're not just buying a high-quality item—you're investing in someone's dream and passion.

Brimble Studio

If you're a fan of whimsical, characterful ceramics, Brimble Studio is a must-visit. Founded by ceramicist Jo Brimble, this studio is all about fun and personality.

Jo hand-builds each piece in her garden studio, which is powered by 100% renewable energy. She uses earthenware clay and ensures that every item is as unique as the person who buys it.

One of my favourites is the Yolanda the Swimmer Toothbrush Holder. Yolanda, a delightful character who loves wild swims, Sudoku, and tea with biscuits, is sure to bring a smile to your face when you reach for your toothbrush every day.

Lack Studio

Vivianne, the artist mind behind Lack Studio, discovered her passion for illustration while living in Asia and Australia. Inspired by the vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes she encountered, Vivianne’s colourful illustrations aim to bring joy and connect people from diverse backgrounds.

Her 'Dive Into New Adventures Art Print' is a vibrant reminder to embrace new experiences. It’s a beautiful piece that encourages you to take that leap of faith and see where it leads.

Plant Studio

Plant Studio, located on North Street, in Bedminster. is my go-to spot for gifts for my plant-loving friends. The staff are always super helpful, guiding you to the perfect plants and accessories.

They also offer a repotting service, ideal for those who lack garden space or just don’t want to do it themselves.

One of my favourites from their collection is the Guzmania Blitz from the "Hard to Kill" selection. This stunning plant adds a touch of tropical vibes and colour to any home.

Elin Horgan Jewellery

Elin Horgan is a Bristol-based jeweller with a passion for creating understated, bold, and modern pieces. Her designs, inspired by abstract art and architecture, follow a “beauty in simplicity” ethos, using geometric shapes and clean lines for a timeless aesthetic.

I particularly love her Silver Mini Meteorite Necklace. This elegant piece is perfect for layering or wearing alone, with its faceted shape beautifully reflecting the light.
