10 Questions with Artist Nat Purple

10 Questions with Artist Nat Purple

Welcome to our new blog series, where we ask our talented artists 10 questions to explore their minds and creative processes.

For those unfamiliar with us, allow me to introduce Skudaboo, an online art gallery specialising in premium giclée art prints. I founded Skudaboo to help people create spaces filled with personality and feel like home, while showcasing incredible artists.

In this blog, I'm ridiculously excited to feature Nat Purple, as her answers are truly lovely. Known for her vibrant use of colour and dynamic compositions, Nat's work transcends traditional boundaries and invites viewers into a world of emotion and the beauty of life's experiences and changes.

She believes 'in art that serves more than aesthetic — it’s a source of joy, a moment of reflection, a touchstone for the soul.'

1. What inspires your art?

Life. I draw inspiration from everything happening around me.

2. What’s the most unusual place or situation where you've found artistic inspiration?

The most emotionally challenging periods in life often result in the creation of powerful, profound works. However, my most popular pieces were created during moments of happiness: when I became a mother, and when I saw lotuses for the first time.

3. What’s your go-to playlist or song when you’re working on a new collection?

If I need to create something calm, I always choose Louis Armstrong.

4. If you had to choose one colour to use for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

White. It contains all the colors.

5. If your art had a signature scent, what would it smell like?

Lavender.

6. Describe your art in three emojis.

🪷 🪽💜

7. What's one of your favourite designs from the collection and why?

It's very hard to choose just one because a significant part of my works is connected to personal transformations and experiences, joys and changes. One of the most significant for me is "Metamorphoses." In this piece, I captured the stages of my life.

8. What's your most treasured possession?

I'm not attached to material things. After all, the most valuable things in the world aren't possessions.

9. Where would you most like to live?

Thank you for this question. It made me reflect. Mountains and pine forests are my element.

10. What is a typical day like for you as an artist?

Each day is unlike the last because you create most of it yourself. I'm endlessly grateful for this opportunity. As a mother, I try to balance routine and bring my fantasies to life.
