Hi loves, I’m Katie, the millennial woman who spent her 20s climbing the corporate retail ladder… until one day I realised I was completely over it.
I didn’t want to keep sacrificing my time, energy (and soul!) for someone else’s business. All I really wanted? To run a cute small business, create a lovely home filled with beautiful, meaningful things and spend my spare time doing my grandma hobbies in peace.
Skudaboo is my passion project turned purpose, an online art and homeware studio based in Bristol. We specialise in affordable, eclectic, and premium giclée art prints and posters, with frames and home accessories that make your space feel truly you.
Whether you rent, own or flat-share, everyone deserves a space that feels like home. That’s what Skudaboo is all about.
The Start of Skudaboo: From Pinterest Boards to Purpose
My love affair with art prints started when I moved into a spare room in a shared flat in September 2019, before I realised how much time I was about to be spending at home.
The room was unfurnished (great for decorating, less so for sitting down), and it gave me the rare chance to fully make a space my own.
Like most people, I turned to Pinterest for inspiration - boho interiors, gallery walls, mid-century vibes. But when I actually tried to buy prints I liked? I had no clue where to start. What’s giclée printing? Which frame size fits which print? Where are the cool artists hiding?
So, I started researching. And collecting. And styling. And slowly, I fell in love with the world of interiors and independent artists. That’s when the seed of Skudaboo was planted.
From Passion to Print Shop
When I finally moved into a flat of my own, the obsession only grew. I was deep into interior design blogs, indie makers, and colour palettes. But there was only so much wall space to play with!
Skudaboo was born from a simple idea: a curated online art gallery that makes it easy (and fun!) to discover beautiful, high-quality art prints for your home, while supporting independent artists along the way.
And so here we are.

What’s Next for Skudaboo?
In 2024, I quit my corporate retail job to start a virtual assistant business for small brands called The Small Business Assistant, to run alongside Skudaboo. It’s the perfect way to put my 16+ years of retail experience to good use, helping indie businesses grow, while also giving me more space and focus to build Skudaboo into something really special.
Right now, Skudaboo is still small and I kind of love that, but with the freedom to give it more time (hello freedom from the 9–5 grind!) and I’ve got big plans.
I’m on a mission to discover even more incredible artists, expand our homeware range, and keep making it easy for you to fill your home with things that make you happy.
